Somia joins the Barcelona Activa Incubator at Glòries!

We’re excited to announce that Somia has officially been selected to join the startup incubator at Barcelona Activa, one of the most important public initiatives in Europe for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development.

What is Barcelona Activa?

Barcelona Activa is the economic development agency of the Barcelona City Council. For over 30 years, it has supported entrepreneurs, startups, and companies across all stages of growth through incubation programs, training, mentoring, and access to international networks. Its mission is to strengthen the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and promote inclusive, sustainable economic activity.

A rigorous selection process

To be incubated at Barcelona Activa, startups must go through a competitive selection process that evaluates the innovation of the project, its technological maturity, mission alignment, and financial potential. At Somia, we proudly demonstrated:

• Our mission to democratize AI and make intelligent automation accessible for all businesses;

• Our deep tech capacity in fine-tuning AI models and building agentic platforms;

• A strong and scalable business model backed by growth potential.

A new home in the heart of Barcelona

We now have our office in the Glòries Incubation Space, right in the center of Barcelona, surrounded by an incredible community of startups and innovators. You’ll find us among other passionate teams working on cutting-edge ideas.

A memorable first day

On our first day at Barcelona Activa, we had the great honor of welcoming Mateo Valero, Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, who visited to congratulate our team personally. That same day, Saül Gordillo, journalist from Punt Avui, visited our office to interview us for a feature—available now in the printed edition.

Connecting with the ecosystem

Last week, we officially introduced Somia during the CoffeetoCoffee networking event at the incubator. We shared our mission, technology, and vision with fellow residents and received great interest and feedback from other startups in the ecosystem.
